François Oustry

François Oustry is a Partner at Orson.

Researcher and entrepreneur François Oustry has been working for nearly 30 years at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, and finance. A specialist in artificial intelligence applied to decision-making under uncertainty, François has designed and implemented technologies that help companies better anticipate crises and sustainably improve their performance.François holds an engineering degree from ENSTA and Stanford, with a focus on applied mathematics and computer science. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where his thesis focused on convex optimization and the development of new families of algorithms to solve large-scale problems. His work earned him the INFORMS Young Researchers Prize. He continued his research at New York University, applying his findings notably in finance through a collaboration with Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

At the turn of the 2000s, François became a research scientist at INRIA, where he collaborated with major companies in the aerospace, energy, and financial sectors.

In 2001, he founded and led Raise Partner, an international FinTech providing tools for risk calculation and resilient portfolio construction.

In 2015, François joined Millennium Global, a specialized asset manager focusing on currencies, as Managing Director in charge of quantitative investment and innovation. There, he developed algorithms that grew the assets managed by his team from $900 million to $4 billion.

In 2019, he co-founded Suzugia, a FinTech specializing in artificial intelligence applied to investment strategies. In 2022, following Suzugia's acquisition by AllianceBernstein, François joined the American asset manager.
